How did you discover Barbizon of Akron/Pro-Model and Talent Management?

Allison: I was approached by a talent scout, asked a few questions, and they gave me a call!

Do you feel you would have been exposed to the auditions and assignments you’ve received without representation through Pro-Model & Talent Management?

Allison: There is no way I would have had the amazing opportunities I’ve had without working with Pro-Model and Talent.

Tell us about some of the auditions and assignments you’ve done.

Allison: Shortly after my graduation from Barbizon of Akron, I did a print assignment for the Purell new foam pump dispensers and made some really good money! It’s not as easy at it looks … trust me. I recently completed another photoshoot for the cover of an inspirational Christian romance novel - I’m on the cover of a novel! Even cooler, it was a period piece, so I was in costume with hair and make-up from the 1690’s. It was so much fun … And I got paid! Additionally, I did a promotional job for Barilla and socialized with lots of people and made their day brighter. I highly recommend Barbizon of Akron and Pro-Model and Talent Management to anyone interested in modeling or acting.

With your experience now, do you feel training is important to succeed as a local model/actor? If so, why?

Allison: Oh YES. Without the training I received at Barbizon of Akron, I would have been so lost. There is no way I would have been prepared for my assignments. Barbizon of Akron taught me the professional and on-camera skills I needed to be successful. But, training isn’t just about helping you know what to do … You also learn about yourself and become more comfortable in your own skin, and that’s so important in everyday life.

What is your best piece of advice for aspiring models or actors beginning in the local market?

Allison: Try your best, keep a smile on your face, and keep your chin up. You can make it!
