How did you discover Barbizon of Akron/Pro-Model and Talent Management?

Sarah: I was at an event near my hometown and Barbizon of Akron and Pro-Model and Talent was there. My parents and I set up a meeting, and it’s all history from there!

Do you feel you would have been exposed to the auditions and assignments you’ve received without representation through Pro-Model and Talent?

Sarah: Absolutely not. Pro-Model and Talent is constantly working behind the scenes on my behalf to get my image out there, and I credit all of my auditions and assignments to them.

Tell us about some of the auditions and assignments you’ve done.

Sarah: I’ve done promotions for products including Dove, Venus, Olay, and Axe. I’ve also done runway shows for Macy’s, and they were a blast! It’s so fun to have a wardrobe selected just for me and to wear the latest trends! Pro-Model and Talent has also helped me get several print assignments with companies like Little Tikes, the Swivel-Straight Christmas Tree Stand, Barbour Publishing, and Signals Convenience Stores.

With your experience now, do you feel training is important to succeed as a local model/actor? If so, why?

Sarah: Yes. The Barbizon of Akron training helped me develop poise and confidence which are necessary in this business, and in everyday life. It helped me with my interviews out of college and landed me a great job! The Barbizon training also provided practical lessons and technical skills that helped me on my assignments.

What is your best piece of advice for aspiring models or actors beginning in the local market?

Sarah: Try your best and never turn down an opportunity! You never know what will come of it.
