When did you first become interested in modeling and acting?

John: When I was about 13 years old I watched “The Lord of The Rings”, and I became profoundly inspired by the character Aragorn. After that movie, I realized how much of an influence actors can have on someone’s life, and decided right then, that I wanted to be the one inspiring others. Modeling is just so fun, I couldn’t help but want to be a model after trying it out! Who wouldn’t want to be a model or an actor?

Did you like your Barbizon of Akron classes?

John: Yes, the acting class was great, I learned a lot of great and useful techniques. In fact, I’m still incorporating those techiniques into my Los Angeles transition.

Did the Barbizon of Akron classes help you with your self-confidence?

John: Yes, definitely. The classes helped by giving me the knowledge I needed to go confidently into the industry. They also helped me to become more outgoing.

Did the Barbizon of Akron classes help you learn skills needed in the modeling and acting industry?

John: The classes definitely did! The acting and modeling classes were great for sculpting my very “green” skills at the time and helping me to become a much more advanced and well-rounded professional.

What did you learn in your Barbizon of Akron classes?

John: The Barbizon of Akron classes helped me improve and develop my improv and scene study skills, and also my facial expressions and auditioning techniques.

Before moving out to Los Angeles what assignments did you do, if any, with Pro-Model and Talent Management (PMTM)?

John: I did a great deal of promotional work and jumped into a couple runway shows, including my favorite, the hair show. I got to meet a lot of great models, got a new hair cut, and made some wonderful money, all in two days!

What are you doing today?

John: I’m currently living in Los Angeles, where I am pursuing an acting career and furthering my modeling career. I have a terrific manager who is working with me!

Do you feel you would be doing what you are doing today without Barbizon of Akron and Pro-Model and Talent Management (PMTM)?

John: Without Pro-Model and Talent the road to where I am would have been much harder. I feel confident I can do this kind of work, and thanks to everyone at Barbizon of Akron and Pro Model and Talent Management it's been a much easier path. They helped me get my foot in the door, and in Los Angeles that’s not always easy.

Would you recommend Barbizon of Akron and Pro Model & Talent to someone?

John: Yes, I would any day; and I already have.

John: I would tell anyone who wants to get into this industry that if you want to find out if this career path is your future, give Barbizon of Akron and Pro Model and Talent Management a try.
